Hey there,  and welcome to the City Lights Podcast. City Lights is a church located in the northwestern part of Richmond, Virginia. For more information about City Lights you can visit us at wearecitylights.com. Now, enjoy today’s message.

Welcome to City Lights. I’m so glad you guys are here with us. My name is Jacob, and on the team here, and like I said, we’re so, so pumped to have you here. We’re week number three (I did four),  week number three. Um um, here. And how fun has this been, man? How fun is this getting this new community together? It’s so awesome to see what God is doing. Okay, Now, do you got a couple city highlights. Ah, man dang. I’m corny. I’m starting to gain my dad jokes. You know what I’m saying? Now that I have a, now that my daughter is 19 months, my dad jokes are starting to come in a little bit more, you know? So so be on the lookout for those.

Okay, um, I do have a couple highlights that I do want to mention. Last week, We had 17 people at City Lights Plus and it was so awesome. So if you’re like what is City Lights Plus, what does that mean? City lights Plus is our membership type class that we offer here. So, like Erin mentioned this a little bit ago. If you want to know more about the church and you want to know what part you play in the church, we invite you out to that. See at Step two, which is gonna happen immediately after this service. Um, we’re gonna learn more about our personality, our leadership style. And honestly, what Step two is gonna help you do is discover your purpose. So So I know that’s kind of a big statement to make. But what we believe here at City Lights is the two best days of your life was the day that you were born, and the day you discover why you were born. And that City Lights Plus stepTWO, we’re gonna help you to determine what it looks like to be on a plus team. You’re like: “What the heck is a plus team?” So at city lights, we try to not call our people who serve volunteers, and the reason why – nothing, nothing wrong with the word volunteer – but the reason why, is typically when you volunteer, you’re hoping someone else’s agenda, or initiative or something like that, right? What we believe as city lights is the reason why we call it the plus Team is because you add something to the church. You’re adding something to what God is doing here. This isn’t just the Erin and Jacob show, and you get to play a part of it. Where you bring to the table is highly important to advance God’s kingdom. And so we, so we want you to not just feel like you’re here, but you have a significant part to play. You add a positive addition to the city lights family. Okay, so step two happens right after service. If you didn’t go to step one, that’s fine. You can hop right into step two. Just so you know, in the future, Step one is every first and third Sunday, and step two is every second and fourth Sunday of the month. Okay, so there’s plenty of time. To do both of the classes.

Okay? So I just wanted to highlight that for you, but we’re gonna jump right into our first series as a church, as City Lights were starting a series today called Stress Out. Who in here feels stressed out sometimes, right? You know, life happens and you got a lot of stress. But that stress has got to go. Come on. It has got to go. So kind of like what I talked about last week, though, Jesus tells us, he says, in this life, you’re gonna have troubles. This is what Jesus says and I don’t know, you know what, maybe what kind of faith background you grew up with, no matter what kind of church background you have, maybe you were taught or believe that if you gave your life to Jesus, there’s no more bad things that happen to you. You know, maybe you were raised in the faith community that if you didn’t have enough faith, that’s the reason why you weren’t healed because it was because it was you.

You know, But But what Jesus tells us. He says, in this life, you’re gonna have troubles. You’re gonna have troubles. Being a Jesus follower does not exempt you from life’s troubles from anxieties from fears from doubts from concerns. But Jesus, also lets us no something else. He says, in this life, you had trouble. But he says, “Take heart for I have overcome the world.” See, the thing we want to learn and hold onto is the victory that we have in Jesus. So for this series, we’re gonna tackle four major stressors that every human deals with. No matter where you come from. No, no matter what your background is, no matter with your faith background is. Four major stressors that every human deals with. And that’s relationships, time, work, and money. Money, money, money. Wow, that was scary. That I just did that and someone else did that the same time.

Okay, um, so I think Jesus has something to say about all four of these subjects. So if you are taking notes, or following along on your out- Oh, not outline –  following on the screen. You can Title part one the series the Big Rock. And not to be confused with Dwayne Johnson because he is the rock. Okay, Um, see, I got these big rocks here, right? I found them in my backyard. I don’t know why they were there, but Okay, um, that’s where I found them, though. And you may have seen this illustration before. If you have done some kind of leadership thing or something like that Oh, that was hard. Okay. And so what you see in this jar, we have all these little rocks, all these little pebbles and these pebbles What they do, what they represent. They represent our e mails, you know, they represent They represent the things we gotta respond back to when our boss is calling us all the time. Even though it’s not on work hours, our grocery list, our kid’s homework that we have to do for them, that three hours that we have to spend on Facebook a day, you know, they represent all those things. Okay, this is our lives. All the little things that happened. But there are three things that I believe matter the most and I believe stress, will try to take these three things away from you. So these three things. We got relationships all right. Relationships matter. Okay, so let’s try to fit that in there. Okay, then you got purpose. Everyone has a purpose. You were made for a purpose. Put that in there alright. And then God. Yeah, and whatever that means to you. God is important. Okay, But here’s the thing – dang – what happens is because we have so many other things in our lives going on. The three big things sometimes don’t fit in. Sometimes they don’t make it. Those are the things that typically don’t make the cut.

See, the problem is often times because we have so many things coming at us from so many different directions. I don’t really need to go to church. I don’t really have to take my spouse out on a date. I don’t really have to position my life for a greater purpose than my every single day. So we got a theme verse for this series that we’re gonna tackle for the next four weeks. Luke 21 starting Verse 34. It says, “Be careful” now, when Jesus just all of the sudden starts a sentence sentence with. Be careful. You should probably listen to it. All right, “be careful. Or your hearts will be weighed down.” Dang! who has some stress in their lives, and that’s kind of how it feels. You feel a little weighed down. See, when we talk about stress, we typically think of stress as just external things, things happening around us. And so if we got rid of some of the external things happening around us, the stress would go. That’s kind of how we think right?

See, See, for me, I’m the kind of guy this makes my wife mad. I’m the kind of guy who throws everything away. I throw everything away. It has been in my house for too long and no one’s used it. It has got to go. I throw things away, which could be good sometimes. Right? Because you don’t wanna be on that show Hoarders. You know, ain’t no one trying to be on that show. That that one in the 600 pound life show. No one wants to be on that one either. Um, those shows are really sad. Okay. Never mind. Um so, So I throw everything away so that it could be good, But sometimes what will happen is eventually I’ll get to a place where I’ll say, where was that thing that I needed. But here’s the problem. I threw it away! It’s gone already. Right? So, So sometimes there are things in your life that you need to get rid of. There, There are some habits you need to get rid of there are some relationships that you do maybe need to cut off. But honestly, more than getting rid of things, I think we also need to just work on things. We gotta work on better habits. We need to work on better routines. We need to work on sleeping better, eating better see stress can come into our lives and weigh us down and get our lives out of whack. The verse continues, he says, “with carousing, drunkenness and anxieties of life.”

So So we we do have these things happening around us. Even the drunkenness. See to deal with stress oftentimes we go to temporary pleasures. You may be in here and you may not drink a lot or whatever, but the question I will ask you, “What thing do you do that you know you shouldn’t be doing, but you do it because you have stress in your life and you’re trying to avoid that stress?” What’s that thing in your life that you know you do way too often, and it doesn’t give you the result that you really want, but you keep on doing it. And then Jesus ends it with this, he says “And that day will close on you suddenly like a trap .” Dang. All of a sudden you feel like a trap closed in on you. And that’s how stress can feel. That’s how stress can feel. All of a sudden closes in on us and we feel like we don’t have anywhere to go.

Which leads me to my starting point today. My starting point today is this and we’re just gonna be honest in church. I like that we can be a church that you can bring your whole self to church. You don’t gotta hide coming here to City Lights; you just beat you bring yourself exactly as you are. So my starting point is this: I have stress. Come on. I have stress in my life. And you know what stress you’re dealing with. You know the things that you can’t stop thinking about. You know the anxiety in your life. I have stress. But my destination point. But today I choose joy. Today I choose joy. I have stress but today I choose joy. Stress comes in but we can choose joy in the stress.

I remember one time probably the first biggest stressor that I had – that Erin and I had – as being parents – probably the biggest stressor that we had. So, Kingsley, our little girl, she’s 19 months now. Man that’s crazy. She’s old. Okay. Um uh, she – But when she was a little girl, when she was right around six weeks old, 6 or 7 weeks old, she had a hard time gaining weight. She couldn’t gain weight. She was so little, she couldn’t gain weight. So our pediatrician told us it looked like Kingsley had a tongue tie and a lip tie, which is causing her not to the latch properly when she was eating. And he’s also causing her to burn calories and things like that. So she wasn’t gaining weight. So then our pediatrician told us the only way to fix this is if Kingsley gets plastic surgery. And we’re like, “What do you mean plastic surgery? She’s so little. What do you mean, plastic surgery?” Instantly. Erin and I are freaking out, we’re thinking about plastic surgery it doesn’t sound good. So we are stressed out thinking about this, right? Well, like, what the heck does this mean? So here you go. So So we set the appointment. We listen to our pediatrician. We setup the appointment. We go to the plastic surgeon place. And at this point, every medical doctor facility that we had to take Kingsley to is typically filled with colorful characters all in the room, and the sound of children laughing and you know, good vibes and things like that. We pull up to this place and it’s cold and it’s wet and it’s raining outside. And I know this place is the reason why it’s raining outside and, you know, it doesn’t feel good, you know? So we walk in the place and we’re expecting parents and kids, and I’m not gonna lie, I know I shouldn’t be saying this ’cause I’m a pastor and whatever, but – God forgive me – we walk into this place and it’s filled with strangest looking people we’ve ever seen. We’re like “What the heck is this place right now?” Okay. And so I’m like sitting I have Kingsley right with me. I ain’t letting no one get near her because of these people looking weird right now. You know, I’m like, this is this is not good at this moment, Okay? So finally they call us to the back, and I got the car chair. I got my I got my, at this time, seven week old daughter got her in the car chair. Of course,I walk into the back. And as I’m walking in the back room, I look on the walls and what I see is not the fun pictures at pediatrician’s office. What I see is pictures and posters on how to have a perfect breast implant. And I’m thinking to myself. Where am I bringing my daughter right now? What kind of place did my pediatrician recommend me to go. So here you go. Then we go into the we go into the room, the doctor’s room and the and the room is filled with wallpaper of Moulin Rouge girls looking like J. Lo and Shakira. People are like that wasn’t a good show. I don’t know why they did that on TV. That was bad. You’re right. You’re right. They shouldn’t have done that. Okay, um, never mind. 49ers lost. We’re not talking about that. Okay, So So So what? I discovered that this was not a pediatrician surgery place. This was a regular old plastic surgery place. Right? And that that does boob jobs and everything else in between. I’m like, Okay, this is this is intense. So at this moment, I’m stressed out, right? I’m like, this could not be good. And then then you think you think it’s already bad. Then the doctor walks in. Then the doctor walks in with his whole entourage of student doctors, like seven other doctors walk into this place and nurses and this man had to be the craziest dude I ever met. He had this deep South African accent. I tried to practice one for the service. It didn’t go well, so I’m not going to do it. And, uh so So at this point, you see Erin, She’s holding on to Kingsley as tight as possible. She ain’t letting no one touch her. And finally, finally, we lay Kingsley down the table. And the doctor looks at us and says, um, this is what we’re going to do. He shows us what he’s going to do, and he looks at me and says, Okay, most parents, they leave the room during this part of the procedure and in my head, I’m like, “Hell, no, I ain’t leaving this room. You gotta be out your mind. You, I ain’t leaving.” That’s what I said inside. But outside said “No, we good. We just here to support you doc.” You know, that’s what I said on the outside. So the nurses hold Kingsley down, the doctor stands me right beside him, and he grabs some some surgical scissors – I can’t make this up, this thing is crazy – and he lifts up her little tongue – aw she’s so little – She lifts up, he lifts up her little tongue, and he looks at me and says, “Dad, you ready?” And I said, “Of course, I’m ready.” That’s what I said on outside. But inside I was like “No Jesus, protect my baby. No.” And then instantly clips her tongue tie. It was crazy. Blood is coming out. I’m like, “Oh, my gosh what’s going on?” Then he lifts up her lip, clips her lip! She’s crying, *wah*, you know all this stuff going on. She’s bleeding. Then he lifts her up, and then he gives Kingsley to Erin, and instantly she stops crying. And then the doctor looks at me and was like, “you guys did it. Most parents freak out at that moment” and then on the outside I was like “yeah man, I trusted you the whole time.” And, you know, I saw I saw the pictures and stuff. I knew this was a good facility, you know, around here, this was a good facility, you know, and and again on the inside. I was like, “Dude, I was about to uppercut you when you came close to my daughter with those scissors.” Okay. So, like I said, they hand Kingsley there. She’s way better. She instantly started eating, and now, months later, She’s cute and a little little chubby girl.

Uh, but that was when stress was in, right? And who knows that stress comes in the most in circumstances you feel you have no control over, right? It’s like, “How did I get here? How did this happen? I can’t believe so much is going on.” See, stress comes in. But here’s the thing. When stress comes in, that’s not our time to give up. That’s not our time to retreat. That’s not our time to start doing things we know we shouldn’t be doing. When stress comes in, we have to ask joy to come in. We have to choose joy and get stress out. And we got to get stress out. See, life happens. life can be stressful. But we have to be careful about stress getting in on the inside of us. We have to choose joy.

Now you want to know one of the ways you can choose joy in your everyday life? You know one of the ways I can help you understand how to choose joy?  It’s by knowing that your days are numbered. You’re like, “dang pastor Jacob that ain’t – That wasn’t very encouraging at that moment. You know, you’re like, Oh, I’m more stressed out now that you just told me my days are numbered. Okay. See, Hebrews, 29 Hebrews 9:27 tells this just as people are destined to die once and after that, to face judgment, you’re like, you like, well I definitely ain’t encouraged right now anymore. You know this is not good. Okay, Now, hold on before you leave to go see bad boys. Hold on. This is helpful to relieve stress and choose joy. Because if you knew you only had a certain numbers of days on this earth. You wouldn’t, waste it on things that don’t matter. You won’t waste it on things that don’t matter. I don’t think anyone gets to the end of their life, and they I don’t think they scream out. I don’t think they say only if I could watch one more hour of Netflix, I don’t think anyone gets to that point in their life. See anything we think we have a lot of we’ll waste it, but anything we know we don’t have a lot of, we’re gonna cherish it. And your life, your time, it is valuable and you should cherish it. And once you understand the value of your life, it is important to re focus on what really matters. It’s important to refocus on what really matters – to take inventory of your life and refocus on that.

And notice I’m using the word refocus. I’m not saying you gotta now try and do a whole bunch of new things. I think all of us have good intentions. I think we always have good intentions. We know kind of what’s right and wrong. But here’s the thing with good intentions. Good intentions never changed the world. You have all the good intentions you want, but never do anything with it. You have to be proactive. You have to refocus on what actually matters. And I’m going to be honest with you. Relationships matter, your relationships matter. You’ve got to make time for your relationships. Maybe there’s some people in here today that you have a whole list of things that you were gonna do right after right after church. Maybe, Uh, you know, I’m not gonna tell you how to live your life, but maybe maybe you should not do those things and spend time with your spouse today. Maybe instead of doing all the different things that you were going to do, Maybe you should go and do something fun with your kids. Or that friend that you loved to hang out with?

See, here’s a cool story for us. My mother in law, who lives in Virginia Beach, has committed for the next few months to coming up to Richmond every Saturday to watch our daughter Kingsley in the morning. And the reason why this is such a big deal is because we get here around 7 in the morning, 6:30-7 the morning to help set up with our portability team and so that would be almost impossible to do with a 19 month, you know, walking around with us. So she – But here’s the thing. She easily could’ve stayed home on the weekend. She works all week. She easily could stay home on the weekends. She can get her wine, catch up on all of her shows, you know, hang out with her cats. You know, just relax, you know, do her thing. And that’s what she could’ve done. But she made a decision not because you want to drive two hours every week, but because relationships matter.  Her relationship with her granddaughter matters more than just hanging out on the weekend. See her relationship with us and her daughter matter. So I’m gonna tell you this. When you get to a place in your life where you understand relationships matter, there is nothing that you won’t do to make those relationships valuable. You’ll do whatever it takes to make those relationships work. See, another way to make healthy relationships for your life is by joining the plus team.

That’s what we offer City Lights Plus – we don’t do just because we want to do something else after church. We want to give you an opportunity to join a team and be a part of a team that has other people that you can connect with so you could have healthy relationships.

See, I believe really life change happens in the context of healthy relationships. So if you can get healthy relationships around you – in the summer, we’re going to be starting small groups we’re super excited about that. But until then, we have these ministry teams that serve together. You really get to know someone a lot at seven in the morning. You know, when you’re setting up for church, you know, Um, so So I encourage you to do that. Like I said, Plus Step two is his right after service, feel free to come and learn about being a part of a team.

Relationships matter. But if our lives are so out of whack, we can’t make room for healthy relationships. So we have to refocus, refocus on relationships, And then another thing once you refocus on relationships, you will see that your purpose matters. Your purpose matters.

See, there’s a story in Mark’s gospel that I think will highlight these last two rocks that we see – the rock of purpose and the rock of Dwayne Johnson. I mean, the rock of God. Um some people like that was heresy. I can’t believe he said that. Okay, um but check this out. Mark 10 says this starting in verse 17 as Jesus started on his way. And James, you can you can come, you can come down. As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked. “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answerer. “No one is good except God alone. You know the commandments. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony. Honor your father and mother” “Teacher,” he declared “All these I have kept since I was a young boy.”

So here’s this scene. Here’s his young rich ruler. He has money, he has power, he has status and we see his good intentions. And he’s filled with good intentions. He’s running up the Jesus and he’s like Jesus. How do I discover purpose? How do I discover eternal life and Jesus right in the Bible says go to Step two. Oh, it doesn’t say that. I misread that. That was funny. Okay, no laughs. Okay, But seriously, he runs up to Jesus and he has this beautiful heart. He has  this beautiful heart. And he’s like, How do I How do I inherit eternal life? What he’s asking for in this moment is how do I live out of purpose that really matters? Jesus. Good teacher. How do I live a purpose with my life that actually matters. How do I live in a way that when I wake up in the morning, I’m not dreading my life, but I’m excited for my life. He’s like Jesus. How do I live out my day that I’m pumped about what I’m doing because I’m making a difference. I’m helping people. I’m being a light to the world, not just getting by through the routine. He’s a good teacher. How do I inherit eternal life? How do I make a real difference? What must I do?

And Jesus is so funny. Notice how Jesus responds to this man, he says, Well, you kept the law haven’t you? You kept the law didn’t you? He says, “You’ve done the good things right?” See and Jesus – he’s always one for the dramatics, too – he’s like you haven’t murdered anyone recently, have you? Have you committed adultery? No I don’t think I have no. Have you lied? Have you cheated? You stole anything? No, no, no, no, no Young ruler’s like “nah I haven’t done those.” And Jesus asked these questions because he’s trying to bring this young man to a conclusion. See, Jesus will never ask you a question that he doesn’t have the answer for. Anytime Jesus asks you a question it’s because he’s trying to get you to think about something.

So doing a bunch of stuff – Come on – Doing a bunch of stuff will not bring you to a purpose that matters. Just doing a bunch of things won’t do that. See we live in a world that tells us, what?, we need more. We need to do more. Americans spend 114% of their salary. That’s more than what they make, because you just have to have more. See? See, you want two handfuls of everything. Let let let’s try this real fast. $1 is good, but $2 is all right. All right, all right. One Krispy Kreme donut is good, but two Krispy Kreme donuts is. all right. One wife is good, but two. Oh, that’s just wrong. Don’t don’t. You don’t want more than one of those. Okay?

The young man is like all these things I have done. I kept the law. And maybe that’s how you feel. Like I’ve done these things at work. I have multiple degrees. I have multiple kids. I got multiple multiples of multiples. But you still haven’t found a purpose that matters. Check this out. Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said, “go sell everything you have and give it to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come follow me.”

Wow. Wow! “At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad because he had great wealth.” What Jesus did here for this young man. He does for us as well. Jesus made it clear that your purpose should always be aligned with what God has for your life. Your purpose matters because God matters. That’s why God matters, and I want to make this clear. I’m not saying that everyone needs to leave their job and come find a pastor job and work at the church. I’m not saying that I’m not saying that at all, because purpose and vocation are not the same thing. Purpose of vocation are not the same thing. My purpose is found and following Jesus. And while I was following Jesus, Jesus put it on my heart to become a pastor. You may be a businesswoman in here. You may be a construction worker. I don’t I don’t know. But if you’re following Jesus, Jesus will lead you to your purpose. See, this is why this is what Jesus is telling this young man, if you want purpose. Come on, man. If you want purpose, that really matters. If you want to make a difference with your life are you willing to sell the things that don’t matter? Are you willing to get rid of the things that you don’t need? The things that you keep putting in front of you that you say matter the most.

Are you willing to get rid of those things and come follow me? See because Jesus, here you go. When I read this story, I do not think Jesus, anti-wealth or anti-money when I read this story, because Jesus is far more interested in the conditions of our heart than external things around us. See what Jesus was trying to do in this moment. He was trying to get into this young man’s heart. He said, What do you love more than me? What do you hold more valuable than me? And if you hold something more valuable than me, are you willing to get rid of it? Are you willing to get rid of it?

See, I don’t believe Jesus wanted him to sell everything because having wealth was bad. People with a lot of resources can make a great impact for the Kingdom through their generous giving. See is even funny one of the most misquoted verses in the Bible is money is the root of all kinds of evil. That’s not what the Bible says. It’s the love of money is the root of many kinds of evil. See money can be used to be a major way to advance the kingdom. That’s what we’re gonna learn about in a few weeks, but Jesus cares more at this moment, “Are you willing to choose me today?”

You may be in here today. Like I have stress. I have things that don’t work. They’re not fitting. I got all these issues; I’ve got all these problems that they don’t go away. I can’t fit what really matters.

I’m gonna leave you with this thought. Maybe it’s time to reprioritize your life because order equals capacity. So you gotta put the things in that matter first. See, I gotta put my relationships first. I gotta put my purpose first. I gotta put God in my life first. And then once you do that – come on – let’s hope this illustration works. And once and once you do that, the other things, the other things will begin to fit in perfectly. See it’s all about your order, and friends, I just got to tell you today, what are you putting before the things that really matter in your life? What are the things that you’re putting before that really matters that is causing you to have stress that feels unbearable, anxiety that feels like you can’t escape from, and you’re you’re you’re struggling each day. But may I just suggest to you today that you’re the order determines your capacity?

I’m gonna close with these last three verses. Right here. Check this out. Matthew 6 says this starting in verse 32, it says “for the pagans run after these things.” See, it’s saying people who don’t know God run out the things that don’t matter; run after the temporary highs and small pleasures. They run after these things, but your heavenly father knows that you need them, “but seek first.” Come on, “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble off his own.” And as I was praying for you guys this week and even my week was kind of funny the week I preach about stress getting stressed out and joy in, my car broke down, I lost power at my house for a whole day. I’m like, dang God, all right, I see you. And but But this but the Message paraphrase of this Bible or this Bible verse is what I felt is gonna translate to a lot of people in here today. So I want to read the Message paraphrase of the verse we just read. Check this out.

“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now.” Some of you you’re losing sight of your spouse and your spouse is slipping away. Some of you you’re losing sight of your kids and your kids were slipping away. “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now. And don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard times come up, come up when the time comes.” And lastly, Jesus says this “Are you tired? Worn out, burnt out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me  and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.”

Isn’t it interesting that you can even boil the gospel down to one word? And that’s rest. He has rest for your life. He has peace for your life. It continues he says “walk with me and work with me. Watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn how to live freely and lightly.”

So pray with me. God, this is what we want. We want to live freely and lightly, without burdens, without stress. So, God, today we say we choose joy. We choose you. I even feel there are some people in here, you have a lot of stress in your life because you’re because you’re you’re carrying on the burdens of other people. There’s other people. There’s other circumstances that you can’t really even handle. That’s not really even up to you. And it’s causing, it is taking away from your joy, it’s taking away from your peace. And I like the Holy Spirit right now is saying, Come to him, bring that to him. He has peace for your life. I even feel like that there is some marriages in here that they are literally one or two decisions away from calling it quits. And God is saying no, no, no. There’s still hope. There’s still hope. Yeah, I feel there’s a lot of financial stress that people are dealing with that’s creeping in on their personal lives, and God wants you to know you have victory in him. You have victory. You have hope in him. So come, Holy Spirit, Come, Holy Spirit! You know what every person in here needs. You know what they’re looking for. God, we give our entire attention to you right now. We ask for joy. We choose it, we pick it. We choose to see what you are doing in the middle of our chaos. So maybe you’re in here today and you never made a decision to trust Jesus with your life. Or maybe you grew up in a church background, but things kind of happened life happening and you really aren’t following Jesus right now. I’m gonna count to three. And on three. I want you to say, shoot your hand up in the air because I want to give you an opportunity to give your life to Jesus, to trust Jesus with your life. Now, I’m not going to call you up front or have you stand up I’m not gonna embarrass you. No, nothing like that. Just right where you are. I want you to make that decision. Jesus. I want you in my life. If that’s you, on three just toss your hand up in the air. 1, 2, 3 Bless you. Bless you. Bless you. Everyone let’s pray this prayer with me. Just say Jesus. Forgive me for my sins. Make me new. Today I choose you in Jesus name. Amen.
